planning

This week was spent planning our opening sequence and sorting out prospective interviews. Our opening sequence involves a montage that switches back and forth from your average shopper to a dumpster diver. We are not entirely satisfied with it, especially after Louis said he had done something similar in a previous documentary he made. But we will leave it for know, and see what happens.

The only interview we are sure of at this point is with Wilson, a student at High, who has recently been given a waring by police after being caught dumpster diving. (After a bit of convincing) He has agreed to tell us his story on camera and even show his face. Another friend has suggested that we go to 128 Abel Smith Street and talk to them about Food Not Bombs, a worldwide movement that involves using dumpstered food to feed those who go without. As we want to emphasize the good that dumpster divers can do for people, this could really benefit our film. Anya has also suggested that we contact a friend of hers, Holly, who dumpster dives out of necessity and also does good for others. Wilson has also given us the number of his brother who has done a lot of dumpster diving all over the world.

I think we are looking pretty on track at the moment so long as all our interviews go basically as planned. We have had no trouble working together to get all the paper work in on time.
